Closings decline annually in the Metroplex

by Emily Marek

Dallas-Fort Worth closed home sales decreased year over year in March, according to the latest Housing Report from the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.

Just over 8,000 homes were sold last month, marking a 7% annual decline. However, that’s a slight increase from February, when fewer than 7,000 homes were sold.

That slower sales pace allowed active listings to jump 34.8% year over year, with 22,449 properties on the market in March. That equated to a 3-month housing supply, up from 2.1 months in March 2023.

Meanwhile, the median home price inched up 1.3% year over year to $395,000. In February, the median price was $390,000.
