Metroplex home sales rise 4.6% in July, reversing June dip

Home sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex rose 4.6% year over year in July to 8,434 transactions, according to the most recent report from the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®. The increase follows an 11.6% drop in June. 

Active listings increased 48.6%, with 29,300 properties on the market. Months of inventory rose to 4 from 3.8 in June and 2.6 in July 2023. 

On average, homes took seven days longer to sell than they did a year earlier, with the typical home staying on the market for 78 days — 45 days on market, plus 33 days to close. 

Meanwhile, the median price dipped 1.7% year over year to $403,086.
