Texas ZIP codes are some of the most popular in the country, according to Opendoor’s 2023 list of the most popular ZIP codes in the United States.
The real estate site analyzed MLS data from markets across the U.S. to compile its list, ranking ZIPs by the number of total listings that went under contract within 90 days of listing last year.
Forney (75126) was the highest-ranking Dallas-area city on the list — despite dropping one spot from last year’s list, the city ranked as the No. 6 hottest area in the U.S.
Forney was immediately followed by Aubrey (No. 7), up six spots from last year’s list. A bit further down the list at No. 10 was Fort Worth, making its first appearance on Opendoor’s annual ranking.
“This year’s hottest ZIPs are a clear progression of 2022’s list, where buyers sought out a tight-knit community and an abundance of activities,” Chelsea Hoyer, national head of brokerage at Opendoor, said in the report. “Our top neighborhoods show that homeowners prefer to escape the hustle and bustle of bigger cities for towns that offer most everything they need — including the right price.”
Hoyer also pointed out that the list features states where the cost of living is below the national average — like Texas. In fact, in addition to the three Dallas-area cities on the list, nine of the top 20 cities were located in the Lone Star State.
