An 1800s castle, restored to modern glory

With ornate wood finishes, German stained glass and imported European fixtures, this Midwest castle, built in the late 1800s, stands as an authentic reproduction of a Richardsonian Romanesque Scottish castle.

Combined, the main property and the carriage house include 15,000 square feet of living space, so there’s no shortage of halls to roam. In total, the Wichita property includes 17 bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, as well as a formal dining room, solarium and gourmet kitchen.

Though the property has been modernized, many original features remain, including the antique limestone walls that line many of the interior rooms.

The $2.95 million estate is listed by Debbie Rich of Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties.
